Plant for the Planet 2020: Drawing & slogan writing contest
On June 29th 2020, The Centre for Environment and Community Assets Development (CECAD) in collaboration with Đông Hải A Primary School, Dong Hai Commune, Duyen Hai District, Tra Vinh Province held a grading contest for a drawing and painting & writing slogans contest in order to protect mangroves.
The activity is within the framework of the project “Plant for the Planet 2020”, which is funded by SK Innovation Corporation and implemented by UNEP Korea and The Centre for Environment and Community Assets Development (CECAD).
The purpose of the contest includes:
- To raise the awareness of primary school students about the value of mangrove forests to the environment and local economy, thereby developing measures to protect the forest and protect the local environment.
- Allowing students to be introduced to and visit the local mangrove forest, thereby helping them have an overview of the forest situation as well as the factors affecting the forest and the proposed solutions.
The contest was enthusiastically responded to by the school administrators and students of Đông Hải A Primary School.
The contest was successfully organized and helped the students of Đông Hải A primary school raise their awareness of the importance of protecting mangrove in Đông Hải commune, Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province.
