History
The Centre for Environment and Community Assets Development (CECAD) was established in 2004, under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations. CECAD is a non-governmental organization working across two offices with headquarters based in Hanoi and a second office established amongst the projects in the commune of Tu Ne, Tan Lac District, Hoa Binh province. CECAD’s projects are mainly situated in the Northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh. CECAD staff members have academic backgrounds in both social and natural sciences. CECAD staff includes a group of researchers and practitioners working in the fields of biology, ecology, forestry, environment, conservation, community development, resource management, economics and sociology. CECAD also work with a number of national and international scientists, consultants, volunteers and organisations concerned with community development.
