First meeting of PGS Tan Lac Coordinating Committee

At the workshop on developing the Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS) in Tan Lac on 29/09/2015, delegates agreed to establish the PGS Tan Lac Coordinating Committee with the participation of 9 members, who voluntarily represented Tan Lac departments, unions and individuals. On 15/10/2015, the members agreed to organize the first meeting to discuss rules and regulations, and assign tasks to each member.

On 15/10/2015, the meeting took place with the participation of 7 of 9 members of the Coordinating Committee, the representatives of VECO donors and Mrs. Tu Tuyet Nhung-the Chief of GPS Vietnam Coordinating Committee. The purpose was to discuss and amend the draft charter of PGS Tan Lac Coordinating Committee, which was edited and assigned to each member by Mr. Hoang Hung.

Giving their opinions so that they could unify to drawn up an activity charter for the PGS Tan Lac Coordinating Committee. They unanimously elected Mr. Nguyen Trong Giang – the head of CECAD field office in Tan Lac to become the head of PGS Tan Lac Coordinating Committee,  with Bui Thi Boi – Field Office staff to as the secretary. Other members were assigned to various departments such as the technical department, quality assurance, and promotion.
In this meeting, members also discussed a seperate logo for PGS Tan Lac. They came up with a unique combination between organic GPS and a personal characteristic of Tan Lac Muong culture into the logo design.

In the meeting, Ms. Tuyet Nhung – Chief of GPS Vietnam Coordinating Committee, shared the experiences and difficulties they faced when forming a young and inexperienced Coordinating Committee. She also encouraged, gave useful advice so that members of the GPS Tan Lac Coordinating Committee were more confident and determined to build and develop a strong Coordinating Committee.
