The inauguration of the dumping site in Tu Ne Commune, Tan Lac District, Hoa Binh Province

After the Garbage collecting group was established in Tu Ne Commune, Tan Lac District, Hoa Binh Province, the huge amount of garbage along the 12B national highway were moved and the landscape was significantly improved. However, there was a problem that the area around the disposal site in Bloc village was polluted.

In order to solve this problem, Tu Ne’s People Committee has sent The Centre for Environment and Community Asset Development (CECAD) a request for help so that CECAD would support them with money and technology to solve the problem. This is in the frame of the project aimed at Livelihood Improvement, Cultural Identity Preservation and Environmental Protection in Tu Ne commune funded by ICCO.

The construction was completed and put into operation on 22nd April 2008. A high strong wall around the dumping site was built so that the castles cannot go inside and bring trash outside. Also, a drainage channel was constructed outside the site to help maintain water and avoid spreading pollution in flood time.
