Training on system operating for PGS Tan Lac Coordinating Committee
On 21/11/2015, within the framework of vegetable sector development project in Tan Lac district, a training workshop on operating PGS (System of Participatory Guarantee) was organized for the members of PGS Tan Lac Coordination Committee, the team leaders and the key members of 9 organic production groups in Tan Lac with the support of CECAD staff. The project was sponsored by VECO Vietnam.
On 11/11/2015, the Chairman of Tan Lac District made no 1682 decision on the establishment of the Coordinating Committee for the pilot project of organic agriculture in Tan Lac – Hoa Binh, for the period 2015-2016. He assigned the local Department of Agriculture in collaboration with CECAD and Seed to Table to monitor, promote organic agriculture and create a bridge to advertise and bring Tan Lac products to local markets in particular as well as markets in big cities like Hanoi.

Mrs. Tu Tuyet Nhung – Chief of PGS Vietnam Coordinating Committee, who is directing the trainers of the workshop, shared knowledge of PGS and experience of PGS operation in other provinces. The participants divided into groups to discuss main tasks and functions of PGS Tan Lac. They also specifically assigned these tasks to each department of PGS Tan Lac.

Also in training, designing the logo and planning the next actions for PGS Tan Lac were lively discussed with the contributions of all members.

The support of the district and commune authorities, the direct participation of the district Agricultural Department, mass organizations and local development institutions, and particularly the determination of 9 groups of farmers who have been producing organic vegetable in Muong Bi and Than Thien Inter-groups promised to bring reliable organic products labeled PGS Tan Lac brand to the Hanoi and Hoa Binh markets.
