Pham Thi Thanh Nga
My research interests focus on climate, meteorology and remote sensing. I have a solid background and fruitful experience in application of remote sensing (satellite, radar) and GIS in the followings: Assessment of natural disasters relating to weather, climate, and environment; Assessing and mapping the changes of natural resources, environment, and disease due to climate change.
I have been involved in various projects as a project member and principle investigator. I have also been the leader of multiple government-funded projects in meterological satellite applications, weather forecasting, natural hazards monitoring, disaster damange assessment using remote sensing data etc. I also own an experience in collaborating with international colleagues and specialists, which contribute to my professional network of not only national, but also regional and international experts.
Do Trong Hiep
Do Trong Hiep is part of the field staff at the Center for Environment and Community Asset Development (CECAD), the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA). He loves nature and cares about the relationship between nature, environment and people. He recognises that there is a close connection between biodiversity loss, environmental degradation and poverty. He has graduated from the Hanoi University of Science at the Vietnam National University with a specialisation in Biodiversity and is currently studying business management at the Vietnam National Economics University. By working at CECAD, he wants to learn and share his knowledge in order to help the poor in rural Vietnam improve their livelihoods. He also wants to help protect biodiversity as well as the environment.

Le Thi Van Hue
Le Thi Van Hue is project coordinator and researcher at the Center for the Environment and Community Asset Development (CECAD), the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA). Her specialisation and research focus is natural resource use and management, community asset building, climate vulnerability and adaptation in the North, Central and Central Highlands of Vietnam. Hue received her MA in Urban and Environmental Policy at Tufts University, USA, her PhD in Agriculture and Rural Development at the Institute of Social Studies at The Hague, the Netherlands, and was a post-doctoral fellow at Amsterdam School for Social Science Research, University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Pham Dieu Linh is a project assistant at The Center for Environment and Community Asset Development (CECAD), the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA). She has graduated from Foreign Trade University with specialization in International Business. However, she is more interested in community development. She has therefore decided to engage in community development, instead of corporate sector. She really inspires to empower the Vietnamese women through entrepreneurship in rural Vietnam where patriarchy is very strong and men are always respected than women.

Bui Thi Boi is a Muong woman who was born and grew up in a village in the Tu Ne commune, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province. She has graduated from middle school and is studying at high school where she is aiming to further her studies at the Vocational College in the future. Currently, she is an accountant for the women’s credit group in her village. Having been part of the field staff at the Center for Environment and Community Asset Development (CECAD) since 2009, Boi thrives to help the poor to have a better life and to help the development of the women in the rural communties as well as promote their equality.

Nguyen Huu Thien
Nguyen Huu Thien has more than 25 years of experience working on issues of natural resource management, biodiversity, sustainable livelihoods, and climate change in the Mekong Basin countries. He has served as a project manager, technical advisor, university lecturer, trainer and consultant, among many other positions. His regional experience includes projects in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, with extensive experience in the Mekong Delta area of Vietnam. Thien has years of experience designing, leading and implementing projects and project evaluations. Over the past fifteen years, Thien has worked with the International Centre for Environmental Management (ICEM), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), The World Conservation Union (IUCN) advising on issues of conservation and capacity building for sustainable and locally grown development. He is skilled at assessing and analyzing climate change risks and developing adaptation and mitigation response strategies.
In 2009, he was part of the international team conducting the Strategic Environmental Assessment of the 11 dams on the mainstream Mekong.

Nguyen Minh Quoc is a researcher at the Center for Environmental and Community Asset Development (CECAD), the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA). His research focus involves natural resource management and community resilience to climate and socio-economic risks. He has participated in various projects relating to community development, ecological conservation, and land governance. Quoc has BSc in Environmental Sciences and obtained his MSc degree in Human Ecology from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium.
Pham Duy Nghia
Pham Duy Nghia is a staff member at the Center for Environment and Community Assets Development (CECAD), the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA). He specializes in natural resources, phylogenetics, and community ecology. His studies entail molecular techniques, statistical computing and programming, and the Geographic Information System (GIS). He studied Biology at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Nam Dinh and recently received his BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science (Advanced Program) at Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
