U.S and Canada have prohibited microbeads, which are plastic particles with a size less than 1 mm in cleaning and personal care products.
Total of 63 countries around the world, including Latin American countries has joined the Clean Sea campaign, developed by United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), to reduce single-use plastics and promote action plans to protect marine environment.
