Project “Rooftop Composting: Reducing Waste, Growing Healthy Food, Enhancing Well-being”

In continuation of Project “Rooftop Composting: Reducing Waste, Growing Healthy Food, Enhancing well-being”, in the morning of June 19th, 2018, officials of the Center of Environment and Community Assets Development (CECAD) continued planting seeds and adding soil to all four composting bins.

The first batch of vegetables and plants grew well, flowers were blossoming, giving a rooftop a new life. Furthermore, some vegetables and chili pepper were ready to be cultivated and consumed.

People working on the 10th floor, which is also the canteen of the building, are extremely supportive of this small project that CECAD carried out. They find pleasure in watering and taking care of these plants everyday.

Other employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development building said that since the implementation of the project, the rooftop has become greener and more appealing. People now enjoys their time after a stressful day at work relaxing on the rooftop.

Mr. Do Xuan Tinh, an official from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development proactively helped CECAD collect waste to continue composting and providing fertilizer for plants.
