Meetings about safe agricultural products with Hoa Binh provincial government representatives and Tan Lac local government

On 04 December 2014, CECAD members and VECO Vietnam had meetings about safe agricultural products with Hoa Binh provincial government representatives and Tan Lac local government officers.

In morning of 04 December, VECO and CECAD had meeting with Director of Hoa Binh’s Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tran Hong Quang and representative of Hoa Binh’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Tran An Dinh.

During meeting, VECO and CECAD presented about organization history, the aims of new project in Hoa Binh province, and the opportunities that Tan lac district will derive when project proceeds. Provincial government representatives, while providing useful information about agricultural development policies, also agreed with project objectives. They commented that VECO and CECAD needed to cooperated with provincial government to finish necessary documents.

In afternoon of 04 December, VECO and CECAD had meeting with Vice Chairman of Tan Lac District People’s Committee and Chairmen of both Tu Ne and Thanh Hoi Commune People’s Committee. During meeting, Vice Chairman of Tan Lac District People’s Committee emphasized that Tan Lac was a mountainous district; local economy still depended largely on small scale agricultural production, so economic development was slow. Therefore, VECO and CECAD needed to help local farmers familiarize with scientific and technological advances.
